How Many Categories of Common Crushers Are There?

Add Time:11/06/2015

According to different action modes of the crushing force, crushers can be roughly divided into two categories.

1. Rock crusher. Rock crusher is general used to process massive materials, with coarse product granularity. It also falls into three groups: primary crusher, secondary crusher and fine crusher.

2. Grinding machine. Generally speaking, grinding machine is suitable for processing fine grained materials, with the granularity able to reach 0.074 mm and even finer. Its structure is characterized by the mutual contact between the media or crushing parts, and the grinding media used are usually steel balls, steel rods, gravels, ores, etc.

Jaw Crusher

According to the crushing modes and structure characteristics , rock crushers generally can be divided into six types.

1. Jaw crusher: By means of the moving jaw plate periodically squeezing the fixed jaw plate to broke ores.

2. Cone crusher: The ores are staying in the cavity between the internal and external cones, with the external cone fixed and the internal cone doing eccentric swinging, finally making the ores squashed or snapped.

3. Roller crusher: The ores are in the clearance between the two oppositely rotating rollers and suffering continuous extrusion and grinding effects. The toothed roller surface also has a chopping effect.

4. Impact crusher: The ores are impacted and broken by the rotating parts at a high rate of speed. It has three types: hammer crusher, cage crusher, and counterattack crusher.

5. Grinding machine: The ores are smashed inside the rotating cylinder by the impact and grinding effects of the grinding media.

Different kinds of crushers have different specifications and application areas. At present, jaw crusher and gyration cone crusher are mostly adopted in coarse crushing process, standard cone crusher in secondary crushing, and short-head cone crusher in fine crushing.
